Youth Development Program

Educational, vocational and personal development opportunities for young people. Our Youth Development Program equips adolescents and young adults with the skills, mentorship and support they need to pursue education, meaningful livelihoods and positive community roles.

Who benefits

School-aged children, out-of-school youth, recent school leavers and young adults seeking vocational training or mentorship. We prioritise those facing economic barriers, early school dropouts, and young people from vulnerable households.

Programmes offered

• Vocational training: Carpentry, tailoring, mechanics, ICT and other trade skills linked to local market needs.
• Life skills & mentorship: Leadership, financial literacy, career guidance and psychosocial support.
• Apprenticeships & placements: Partnerships with local businesses to provide on-the-job learning and employment pathways.
• Supplementary education: Remedial classes, exam preparation and literacy / numeracy programmes.

How the programme works

1. Community outreach and selection with transparent criteria to identify motivated youth and those most in need.
2. Assessment of skill gaps and placement into appropriate training or mentorship tracks.
3. Delivery of practical training by qualified trainers and partner organisations, combined with life skills sessions.
4. Placement support, small grants or starter-kits for graduates to launch micro-enterprises or join apprenticeships.
