Disaster Response

Disaster Response

Rapid response teams and emergency support during crises. Our Disaster Response teams deploy quickly to provide lifesaving assistance, coordinate with local authorities and partners, and set up immediate relief operations while beginning plans for short- and medium-term recovery.

Who benefits

Communities and households affected by sudden onset disasters — floods, storms, fires, earthquakes or other emergencies — especially those displaced or who have lost homes, livelihoods or access to essential services.

What the rapid response provides

  • Immediate search, rescue coordination and lifesaving first aid where teams are able.
  • Distribution of emergency supplies: food, water, shelter kits and hygiene items.
  • Temporary shelter, protection support and referrals to health services.
  • Initial damage assessments and coordination for recovery planning and cash assistance.

How the programme works

  1. Rapid needs assessment with local authorities and partner organisations to prioritise lifesaving activities.
  2. Mobilisation of trained response teams, supplies and logistics to reach affected areas quickly.
  3. Coordination with clusters, local government and NGOs to avoid duplication and maximise coverage.
  4. Transition planning from immediate relief to short- and medium-term recovery (shelter, livelihoods, psychosocial support).

How you can help

  • Donate: Emergency funds allow rapid procurement and deployment — Donate
  • Partner: Logistics providers, suppliers and local NGOs help speed delivery and scale the response.
  • Volunteer: Skilled volunteers (logistics, WASH, medical) may be called upon during declared responses where safe and appropriate.
